Mr. Mohammed Nasim, MP was born on 2nd April 1948 in a highly respectable family in Sirajganj district of Bangladesh. His father Late M Monsoor Ali, one of the great organizers of the War of Independence of Bangladesh, was the Prime Minister of the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh in Bangabandhu's Cabinet. His mother's name is Amena Monsoor.

Mr. Mohammed Nasim, who is also the Presidium Member of the ruling party Bangladesh Awami League, was elected as the Member of Parliament in 1986, 1991, 1996, 2001 and 2014.

Mr. Mohammed Nasim, a graduate in Political Science from Jagannath University, was sworn in as the Minister in the Present Cabinet on 12 January, 2014.

In the past, in his long successful political career, he was appointed as the Minister for Home Affairs, Minister for Housing & Public Works and also the Minister for Posts and Telecommunications.

In addition to his present responsibility as the Minister for Health and Family Welfare, he is also working as the 'Spokes person' of the 14-party Grand Alliance.

He is an active social worker. He is a great contributor in establishing many educational institutes in Sirajganj.

He is married to Laila Arjumand and blessed with three sons.
